It didn't take long for Cris Cyborg and Valentina Shevchenko , two of the best MMA fighters in history, to speak out after suffering attacks from Ronda Rousey . Last Tuesday (10), in California (USA), at the press conference to promote her return to action at the Netflix event against Gina Carano, the athlete lowered the level and referred to the pair in a very disrespectful way. Thus, the legends of the sport joined forces and took up the 'fight'.
In her attacks, Ronda insulted Cyborg and accused her of using banned substances to gain an advantage in fights. Not satisfied, the American, while criticizing the UFC for offering paltry salaries to its fighters, highlighted that some of them, to earn extra income, choose to expose themselves on digital platforms. As an example, Rousey cited Valentina: 'That's why champions like Valentina are selling photos of their breasts on OnlyFans'.

As expected, the Brazilian and the Kyrgyzstani fighters responded on their official 'X' accounts. Cyborg reinforced her interest in facing Ronda, denied being a cheater in MMA, and doubted that she would have the courage to insult her face-to-face and accept the fight. Valentina, on the other hand, stressed that with such thinking, the American is stuck in the past and reminded everyone of the devastating knockout she suffered against Amanda Nunes.
“I find Ronda’s narcissism charming. There’s no world where she puts on that tough-girl act and then actually fights me. Gina, you’re different. You’re elegant and genuine. I tested positive for banned performance-enhancing substances in my 21-year career. 2011. 15 years ago. The sport was very different back then and I didn’t even speak English ,” wrote Cyborg.
“I had no idea that the pills I was given in Brazil to 'help me lose weight' were banned for athletes in the US. I served my sentence and learned a life lesson. I have been involved in Olympic-style testing for over 15 years without any problems. I proved that I am a clean athlete. I use my own experience to guide younger athletes on the importance of knowing what you put into your body and the dangers of PEDs. 21 years of fighting… when Ronda hid her face in the pillow.”
“I went through this same experience with dignity and humility, something you failed to demonstrate during your UFC career and which you are already showing in this fight against Gina. One thing I know for sure is that you will say all the nasty things in the world, but you won't fight me. I pray that one day you will be happy with yourself. There's a reason why Ronda is retiring again after making money ,” he concluded.
“It’s 2026. Fighters using OnlyFans is just a new way for us to connect with fans. It seems like Ronda slept a lot after her last fight in 2016,” Valentina wrote.
