After a great performance in the Contender Series in August last year, Manoel 'Manumito' Souza debuted in the world's largest MMA organization with a beautiful knockout this Saturday (24) in the confrontation against Bolaji Oki at the end of the third round. The only man to beat Mauricio Ruffy in a striking match, Manumito reached his 14th professional victory and hasn't lost since September 2024.

The Brazilian started the fight trying to dominate the center of the octagon, showing little concern for the Belgian's low kicks. With great aggression, he took Oki to the ground after landing a powerful right cross. On the ground, he quickly attacked his opponent with a kimura. Even though Oki took advantage of the submission attempt to reverse the position, he maintained the technique for a few moments. Bolaji then landed good elbows and short punches from above, forcing Manumito to get back to his feet and end the round exchanging blows in the clinch against the cage.

After listening to instructions from his corner, Manumito returned to being aggressive on his feet, but was surprised by a counter-attack and from that moment on had trouble securing a takedown. Oki also had success landing strong knees to the midsection. After recovering, the Brazilian again cornered his opponent and engaged in open exchanges. The action was briefly interrupted after Manoel was hit in the eye with a finger. After recovering, the fighter from Ceará even managed to throw Oki off balance with a good right cross in the final seconds of the round.

The duel remained tense in the final part of the fight. While Manumito was more aggressive with strong combinations of punches, Oki tried to counter-attack with knees to the midsection, but clearly seemed more tired. The Belgian slowed down as the round progressed and began to suffer from Manoel's powerful jabs.

The Brazilian sensed the moment and punished his rival against the cage. It was at this moment that Manumito landed a perfect right straight to the Belgian's chin, taking Bolaji Oki a knockout when the clock showed four minutes and 12 seconds of the third round.

In a duel valid for the middleweight category (up to 83,9 kg), Erik Anders won Brad Tavares By unanimous decision in a lively duel between veterans during the preliminary card. After the result, the winner announced the end of his professional career after 20 fights in the world's largest MMA event over almost a decade.

Physically larger, Anders dedicated the first few minutes to the strategy of taking his opponent to the ground from the clinch against the cage. Tavares defended very well against the takedown attempts and even managed to land a strong knee strike to his opponent's face, who was clearly stunned for a brief moment.

As time went on, both fighters became increasingly aggressive. In this context, Eryk hurt his rival several times with strong punches, coming very close to securing a stoppage. Tavares ended the first round being saved by the bell. In the second round, it was Brad's turn to have his best moment, knocking his opponent down but missing the opportunity to finish the fight by attempting a submission.

After a third round dominated by Anders through takedowns and physical dominance, all judges awarded the victory to Anders. Erik Anders, with a score of 29 to 28.
