Vitor Petrino delivered entertainment when facing Steven Asplund at UFC Vegas 114, held this Saturday (14). The Brazilian measured forces with the American on the preliminary card of the event and, despite going through a big scare in the first round, grew in the second stage and starred in a real war at the end of the fight until having his arm raised by unanimous decision.
With the victory, Petrino reached 14 wins in his career, his third consecutive win in the heavyweight division. Steven Asplund, on the other hand, suffered his second defeat in the world's most famous octagon.
Petrino leads war at UFC Vegas 114
Vitor Petrino started the fight relying on movement. When Asplund closed the distance, the Brazilian landed strong punches that were blocked by his opponent. Midway through the round, the American began to retreat, and from then on, the fighter from Minas Gerais attempted takedowns, but without success.
In the final stretch of the first round, Petrino landed some hard leg kicks on his opponent. However, in a moment of carelessness, Asplund connected with a powerful sequence that took the Brazilian to the ground. Petrino managed to recover before the bell rang.
In the second round, Asplund lost his balance after a high kick from Petrino. The Brazilian took advantage of the moment and tried to take the fight to the ground. Back to striking, the American showed more signs of fatigue, while Petrino landed the best blows, mainly with boxing combinations.
In the third round, the fighter from Minas Gerais continued to move faster, but ended up being hit by a straight punch from the American. After nearly going down, Petrino increased his pace and landed some good blows on his opponent again.
In the final seconds, Petrino challenged his opponent to a striking exchange in true Max Holloway style , and the fighters traded punches in the center of the octagon, thrilling the crowd. In the end, the judges awarded the victory to the Brazilian by unanimous decision.

Elijah Smith showed what he's capable of at UFC Vegas 114. The American faced Su Young You on the preliminary card and had to overcome difficulties right from the first round.
Despite being dominated in the grappling exchanges early in the fight, Smith managed to fight back. The 23-year-old scored a knockdown against his opponent and seized the opportunity to lock in a rear-naked choke, securing the submission.
With this result, Elijah Smith reached 10 career wins, his third inside the UFC octagon. Su Young You, on the other hand , suffered her first defeat in the organization, after starting her Ultimate career with three positive results.

Myktybek Orolbai gave Chris Curtis no chance at UFC Vegas 114, held this Saturday (14). The Kyrgyzstani representative faced the American in the fight that closed the preliminary card of the event and, without giving his rival any room to breathe, used grappling to control the action and secure the victory by unanimous decision of the judges (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
With the victory, Orolbai, 28, reached 16 career wins and is now on a three-fight winning streak in the UFC. Chris Curtis , on the other hand, suffered his 13th professional defeat.
