Steven Asplund expressed satisfaction with the marks left after the intense battle against Vitor Petrino at UFC Vegas 114, held last Saturday (14). The American even rocked the Brazilian in the first round and was close to winning, but ended up suffering in the following stages of the fight. Quite bruised after the fight, Asplund ended up experiencing his first defeat in the Ultimate.
On social media, the fighter displayed the injuries sustained in the duel and acknowledged that he believed he could emerge victorious from the fight. Even with his face badly bruised, the American highlighted that he managed to take Petrino down on two occasions and expressed pride in the resilience he demonstrated during the fight, stating that it would take much more to stop him in the octagon.
“I’m not gonna lie, I thought I was going to get the upper hand. Obviously my face is a mess, but I knocked him down twice and got back up after the fall. Hey, I warned you, you sons of bitches, that you were going to have to kill me!”, said Steve Asplund.

With the victory, Petrino reached 14 wins in his career, his third consecutive win in the heavyweight division. Steven Asplund, on the other hand, suffered his second defeat in the world's most famous octagon.
