Victor Petrino He confirmed his favoritism at UFC Vegas 114 and wasted no time in projecting his future in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg). At the event held this Saturday (14), the Brazilian beat Steven Asplund's face and won by unanimous decision. Undefeated in the category with three wins, the 'Cabuloso', excited, has already defined his next target and also showed dissatisfaction with a decision that harmed him.
In the post-UFC Vegas 114 press conference, Petrino was not at all happy to be removed from the top-15 heavyweights in the latest ranking update made by journalists and released by the company last Tuesday (10). The Brazilian, who was ranked 15th in the division, saw Tai tuivasa, who has six consecutive losses, to take his place.

In great form, the athlete made it clear that he wants to return to the elite of the category and, to solidify his position there, he challenged... Derrick Lewis, the greatest knockout artist in UFC history. And the choice of Petrino makes sense. The 41-year-old American is one of the most popular names in the heavyweight division, currently ranked ninth, and didn't leave a good impression in his last fight, being knocked out without resistance.
“I deserve to be in the top 15. They knocked me out to a guy who has six consecutive losses, I don't know why, but I want bigger things, a guy who will propel me into the top 10, and I'm willing to fight anyone, anytime, and fight more and more throughout the year. And I'm also happy with the performance, right? Being in the best event in the world, delivering a great fight for you guys,” said the athlete.
“I definitely want to fight as soon as possible, and if Lewis is available, he’s a guy I want to face soon. Because he’s a strong guy, who’s been at the top before, and I know he’s there as the gatekeeper of the division. He’s a guy who, because of his name, I know will propel me to where I want to go in the UFC,” he concluded.
