Aware that Johny has a fight scheduled for April 11th, in UFC 327Valter stated that there is a chance he will be in his brother's corner during the event. However, his participation depends on several factors, such as his recovery from a leg injury and the possibility of also having a fight scheduled, which would require total focus on his own career. If that doesn't happen, he has also made himself available to fight on a card in Brazil, either in June or October.
“My leg is messed up, it’s cracked, I can’t even fight. I’m standing here, it hurts, it sucks. It’s been like this for two or three months. I think I’m ready to fight, I want to fight in May, in China, in Macau, or I want to fight here in Brazil, in June or October. When I’m fighting in Brazil, I’m ready to do it,” explained the UFC fighter.
The fighter also clarified the situation involving a possible confrontation against Marcin tyburaAccording to Walker, he didn't refuse the fight scheduled for March 28th, but requested more time to recover from his injury. The Brazilian's idea was to reschedule the fight for the event in Macau, but negotiations didn't progress and Tybura ended up accepting another opponent. Since then, Valter claims he hasn't received any further offers and was told by the organization that he should only resume talks when he is fully recovered.
“Dude, actually I didn’t refuse Tibura, you know? I needed more time… I had a fight with Tibura on March 28th. I said, ‘Hey, my leg isn’t recovered yet, it could be Tibura, but in Macau.’ Then they said, ‘We’ll see.’ Then they canceled the fight, he accepted another opponent, so unfortunately now I don’t know. The guys don’t want to talk to me about fighting. They said, ‘Hey, when your leg is 100% recovered, you let us know.’” Walker concluded.
