Alex Poatan showed that the atmosphere at home can also turn into a mini martial arts lesson. In an intimate moment with his children shared on social media, the former UFC champion, who has a fight scheduled for June 14th , appeared giving valuable instructions to the youngsters on how to take down their opponents while they played in the living room of the family home.

In a story posted on Instagram, the striker appears sitting on the sofa, watching his children grappling in the middle of the living room while one tries to knock the other down. The scene, which began as a simple game, soon turned into an opportunity for the Brazilian to demonstrate some of his knowledge.

Without much delay, Poatan gets up and begins to guide the two young men. Using each of them as an example, the athlete demonstrates in practice the correct way to apply force and execute the movement necessary to take down the opponent, explaining the details of the technique during the short, impromptu lesson.

Outside of his family environment, Alex Poatan is also experiencing an important moment in his Ultimate career. The Brazilian has a fight scheduled against Ciryl Gane , for the interim heavyweight title (up to 120,2 kg), at UFC Casa Branca , scheduled for June 14th in Washington DC (USA).

If he beats the Frenchman, Poatan could write another historic chapter in MMA. The striker has already been champion in the middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) and light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) divisions and has the chance to become the first athlete in the sport's history to win belts in three different weight classes.

To try and achieve this feat, the Brazilian had to relinquish his light heavyweight title. The decision follows a policy adopted by the UFC in cases of division changes, which left the category's belt vacant.
