The former UFC middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) explained why he didn't accept a return to MMA in an event broadcast on Netflix and was candid about the number of boxing commitments he has left before ending his professional athletic career.

During an interview on 'The Ariel Helwani Show', 'Spider' explained that he is focused on his process to become a police officer and therefore does not intend to accept commitments in MMA. Despite ruling out a return to mixed martial arts, the Brazilian indicated that he still intends to step into the ring a few more times before ending his career. The athlete believes he may have one or two boxing matches before his official retirement.

“Nakisa invited me to fight MMA or kickboxing, but since I’m in the process (of becoming a police officer), I just said, ‘I can’t this time.’ I still have one or two fights ahead of me, but only in boxing. I no longer have the mentality to train MMA; it’s too hard for me,” he said. Anderson Silva in an interview.
