Dricus Du Plessis believes Sean Strickland has a good chance of beating Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 328 , scheduled for May. The South African, who has already beaten the American twice and was defeated by the Chechen in his last fight, believes the technical matchup favors the outspoken fighter against 'The Wolf'.
In a statement to 'SABoxingTalk', Du Plessis highlighted Strickland's advantage in striking and emphasized the difficulty of controlling him in grappling. In the champion's view, the American is stronger than many imagine and possesses enough attributes to face Chimaev, therefore having a good chance of winning.

Dricus Du Plessis faced Sean Strickland for the first time at UFC 297 , when he was still a title challenger, and had his arm raised after a split decision that was heavily contested by fans. The rematch took place a year later at UFC 312 , and the South African once again came out on top, this time with a more convincing unanimous decision victory.
Against Khamzat Chimaev , Du Plessis did not have the same success. At UFC 319, the South African was dominated by 'The Wolf' throughout the 15 minutes of the fight and ended up defeated without being able to pose much of a threat to the Chechen.
