Dricus Du Plessis believe that Sean Strickland has a good chance of winning Khamzat Shimaev at UFC 328, scheduled for May. The South African, who has already defeated the American twice and ended up defeated The Chechen player, in his last match, believes that the tactical setup favors the loudmouth against 'Lobo'.
In a statement to 'SABoxingTalk', Du Plessis highlighted Strickland's advantage in striking and emphasized the difficulty of controlling him in grappling. In the champion's view, the American is stronger than many imagine and possesses enough attributes to face Chimaev, therefore having a good chance of winning.

Dricus Du Plessis faced Sean Strickland for the first time in UFC 297, when he was still a title challenger, and had his arm raised after a split decision that was highly contested by fans. The rematch took place a year later, at UFC 312And the South African prevailed again, this time with a more convincing victory by unanimous decision.
Against Khamzat ShimaevDu Plessis did not have the same success. UFC 319The South African was dominated by 'Lobo' throughout the 15-minute fight and ended up defeated without being able to pose much of a threat to the Chechen.
