Jorge Masvidal has a rather controversial opinion on the controversy involving Jon Jones , Dana White, and the payment of MMA fighters. Recently, the former light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) and heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) champion publicly explained that the real reason for his absence from the UFC Casa Branca card was a lower-than-expected offer from the organization, a situation that, in the view of the 'Street Jesus', exposes the financial reality of the athletes.
During an appearance on the 'Death Row MMA' podcast, Masvidal reinforced the point by recalling that Dana White himself has classified Jon Jones as one of the greatest fighters of all time. From this, he questioned the logic of the organization's pay scale, suggesting that if an athlete of that caliber doesn't receive what he considers fair compensation, it's unlikely other fighters are being properly valued.

According to Dana White, the reason Jon Jones is not scheduled for UFC White House , set for June 14th, is his unavailability to fight. Despite frequently campaigning for a fight, the former champion is still recovering from a hip injury. According to the organization's president, the fighter's name wasn't even considered for the card.
Given the situation, the UFC went ahead and scheduled Ilia Topuria against Justin Gaethje as the main event. Alex Poatan , who was mentioned by Jones as a possible opponent, will face Ciryl Gane in the co-main event.
