Melissa Mullins lived through a traumatic experience at the official weigh-in of UFC London. At the pre-fight ceremony held in the early hours of this Friday (20), the Englishwoman fulfilled her obligation on the scale, however she saw Luana DreadHer opponent exceeded the bantamweight limit (up to 61,2 kg), coming in 3,6 kg over the tolerable weight. Therefore, the fight was canceled for regulatory reasons. As expected, the home athlete expressed her disappointment with what happened and made an appeal.
On her official Instagram account, Mullins, visibly frustrated at not being able to compete, lamented not being able to perform in front of family, friends, and fans to reciprocate the support and affection she received throughout her preparation. It's worth noting that the Englishwoman was so excited to fight in her home country that she cried while weighing in.

Upon learning of the cancellation of her fight against Dread, the athlete, aiming to return to competition as soon as possible, didn't hesitate and asked the UFC to find her a new opponent. And the Englishwoman's action is justified, as she is coming off a loss and her last appearance in the octagon was in June.
“Although I made weight, it was definitely a harder cut than I expected! My opponent was 3,6 kg off officially, and although we agreed to fight, the UFC commission wasn’t satisfied and removed the fight from the card!”, the fighter wrote.
“All my hard work was wasted and the opportunity to fight at home was stolen from me! The chance to perform on the best stage in the world was lost in an instant! Guys, please make some noise and help me get back to fighting as soon as possible!”, he concluded.
