The death of Chuck Norris marked the end of an era in martial arts and the world of cinema. Recognized as one of the greatest names in the history of combat sports, the American built a victorious career both on and off the mats. At 86 years old, the icon's death was confirmed by his family in an official statement this Friday (20).
In a post on Instagram, Chuck's family informed the world that the six-time undefeated world karate champion in the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg) passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Norris was hospitalized in Hawaii after suffering a medical emergency last Thursday (19). The nature of the hospitalization was not disclosed. He died the same day, but the information was only shared the following morning. Although the cause of death was not revealed, the actor's family thanked fans for their affection and prayers.
"It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we prefer to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and at peace. To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength."
To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family. He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved.
