Veteran Michael Page is considered a showman of MMA, but this time he didn't impress in the octagon. At UFC London , an event held this Saturday (21), 'MVP', 38 years old, ignored his advanced age to compete and passed Sam Patterson by unanimous decision in the encounter between Englishmen, valid for the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg). However, the renowned striker was booed during and after the fight, along with his opponent, due to the lack of action.
It's worth noting that Page was dissatisfied with the UFC's delay in giving him a fight and, in good form in the octagon, found it strange to have to face Patterson. Even so, the veteran showed professionalism by accepting the fight, confirmed his status as the favorite and, with three consecutive victories, is once again dreaming of fighting more prominent names in both the welterweight and middleweight divisions (up to 83,9 kg).
For better or worse, 'MVP', currently ranked 13th, is getting closer to breaking into the top 10 in the 77 kg category. On the other hand, Patterson saw his surprising four-fight winning streak come to an end.

The duel was not pleasing.
Elusive as usual, Page hunted Patterson in the octagon. Exuding confidence, Page feinted, bounced around, dodged punches, and delivered well-timed kicks and punches. Due to the lack of action, the fans present at the O2 Arena booed the fighters.
In the second round, Page came back more aggressively and landed jabs and straight punches to Patterson's face. In turn, Patterson tried to attack, but barely managed to touch Page. Technically, Page landed an overhand punch on Patterson. At a disadvantage on his feet, Patterson grabbed Page and tried to score points in the clinch on two occasions, but was unsuccessful.
In the third and final round, Patterson went all out and hunted Page down. Patterson threw jabs and even made Page lose his balance. Again, Patterson clung to Page and took him to the cage, but couldn't get the takedown. Standing, Page landed an uppercut on Patterson and again defended himself in the clinch. Sensing Patterson's desperation, Page took advantage of his attack to give him a knockout. Even in a difficult situation in the fight, Patterson continued to pursue Page and landed a straight right. At the end of the 15-minute fight, the pair were booed again.
