The former champion is embroiled in a war of narratives with UFC president Dana White, who stated that the fighter's name was never even considered for the card. However, 'Bones' disputes this version and maintains that they simply couldn't reach an agreement.
In a post on the social network X, Jon Jones stated that he was ready to compete and revealed financial disagreements in the negotiations. According to the fighter, he would accept less than Tom Aspinall , but there was no progress on the part of the organization.

According to Dana White, the reason Jon Jones is not scheduled for UFC White House , set for June 14th, is his unavailability to fight. Despite frequently campaigning for a fight, the former champion is still recovering from a hip injury. According to the organization's president, the fighter's name wasn't even considered for the card.
Given the situation, the UFC went ahead and scheduled Ilia Topuria against Justin Gaethje as the main event. Alex Poatan , who was mentioned by Jones as a possible opponent, will face Ciryl Gane in the co-main event.
