Alexander Volkanovski approved of Movsar Evloev 's performance at UFC London , held last Saturday (21). The Russian faced Lerone Murphy in a duel of undefeated fighters that was worth the next challenger for the featherweight belt (up to 65,7 kg). Despite criticism from some fans, who described the fight as lukewarm, the Australian champion highlighted positive aspects of the winner's performance, who, according to him, should be his next opponent.
During the post-fight show on Paramount+, Volkanovski highlighted that Evloev's strategy was surprising, especially his willingness to exchange blows standing up. Even so, the champion pointed out the Russian's physical superiority in takedowns and his ability to excel in striking as well. In the Australian's assessment, the performance was convincing enough to position Evloev, now undefeated with 20 wins, as the next in line for the title.

“It was an interesting fight. I don’t think anyone expected Movsar to simply want to trade blows standing up with Lerone. If that was something he felt he needed to do to secure a title shot, I’m not so sure. But you could see that he was much stronger when he decided to take the fight to the ground, and then he managed to outstrike him as well. So, for me, it was quite impressive, to be honest. Credit to him. Now he’s 20-0, and I think he’s next,” said Volkanoski.

Although Movsar Evloev is the number one in the division and maintains an undefeated record with 20 wins, the title fight against Alexander Volkanovski may end up going to Jean Silva.
