Dana White confirms interest in Nate Diaz's return to the UFC and admits defeat to Netflix.

Nate Diaz last fought MMA in 2022, but he remains in demand. At 40 years old, the popular fighter will return to the sport to headline a bad boy duel with Mike Perry at the first event promoted by Netflix, scheduled to take place on May 16th in California (USA). In fact, the contract signed by the veteran was a kind of 'sneer' at Dana White.

At the post- UFC London press conference , held last Saturday (21), the organization's president did not hide his appreciation for Diaz and confirmed that he was interested in having his services again. And Dana's stance is not surprising. Previously, the executive had already left the company's doors open for the veteran's return.

It's worth noting that Nate, who left the UFC in 2022 complaining, never hid his desire to return to competing in the octagon, but ultimately prioritized Netflix and signed a lucrative contract. Aware of the overwhelming offer, Dana White admitted defeat to the streaming giant, but delighted fans by revealing that he doesn't rule out re-signing the bad boy, despite his advanced age for competition.

“He came and talked to me a few weeks ago. We had a good time and I think Nate received an offer he couldn’t refuse. I haven’t spoken to him since then, but I’m happy for him. I don’t know, let him do what he wants. Then we’ll see how this fight unfolds and what happens,” said the official.

Nate Diaz , 40, is one of the most popular fighters in MMA. The American began his career in the sport in 2004 and debuted in the UFC in 2007. With the company, the bad boy won the 5th edition of the program 'The Ultimate Fighter' and competed for the lightweight (70 kg) belt.

In boxing, the veteran has built a record of 21 wins and 13 losses. His main victories were over Anthony Pettis , Conor McGregor , Donald Cerrone , Gray Maynard , Jim Miller , Melvin Guillard, Michael Johnson , Takanori Gomi, and Tony Ferguson.
