Acelino Popó may return to share the ring with Wanderlei Silva In a new boxing match. In a statement to 'GE', Popó downplayed any pre-arranged agreement between the parties and stated that the promotional material recorded alongside Wanderlei was strictly for advertising purposes. According to the boxer, there was never any concrete agreement beyond the release of the promotional material.

Nevertheless, the fighter from Bahia showed openness to a rematch and made it clear that he would accept a rematch. At the same time, he made a point of adopting a provocative tone by demanding a firmer stance from his rival in the ring.
