Jean Silva has a theory about why Joe Lopez doesn't want Alexander Volkanovski to face him in the UFC. However, the Australian, and now his coach, claims that the Brazilian doesn't yet deserve the opportunity, an argument that Jean interprets as a series of excuses.
In a video posted to his Instagram stories, Jean Silva criticized his rival and his team's behavior, suggesting that the coach was called upon to defend him publicly and accusing the team of avoiding confrontation. According to Lord, not only Volkanovski, but the entire team was 'running away' from the fight, and the lack of respect shown by the coach was the main reason for the more aggressive tone of his statements.

"Hey, let me tell you something. He called his coach to defend him, is that right? Man, his coach tried to humiliate me, dude. Well, all I know is that now the whole team is running, it's not just Volkanovski. And it's all good, he's going to get a beating and it's his coach's fault for not having respect, the bum," said Jean Silva.
The Brazilian also questioned the criteria for sporting merit adopted by his opponents. He pointed out that, in the interval between Volkanovski's fights against Diego Lopes , Movsar Evloev did not fight and, even so, was not considered for the bout. For Jean, the discourse about merit only gained strength after his name came into prominence in the division.
"It's funny that, in the interval between those two fights he had with Diego, Evloev didn't fight and there was no sporting merit. Otherwise, I would have fought Evloev. It was only when my name came up that sporting merit appeared," concluded 'Lord'.
