The tough defeat to Charles do Bronx earlier this month definitely had traumatic effects on Max Holloway . Besides losing the BMF belt, the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) has distanced himself from any chance of competing for the lightweight crown (up to 70,3 kg) in the near future. In this context, Arman Tsarukyan believes there is a clear path for the Blessed One: facing Conor McGregor . He spoke about the subject in an interview on 'The Ariel Helwani Show' this Monday (30).

According to the Armenian, Holloway is in the final part of his career, and therefore, the best opponent for the Hawaiian would be The Notorious. The Irishman hasn't stepped into the world's most famous octagon since fracturing his left leg in his third fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
“In terms of style, it’s a good fight for Conor. Max is finished. He’ll just make money and then retire. He was terrible in his last fight. I was surprised, how can he not know how to wrestle? Zero wrestling. He’s been in this sport for 20 years and can’t even defend a takedown from Charles Oliveira,” he stated.

Athletes of the same generation, McGregor faced Holloway in August 2013, in the Irishman's second fight in the world's largest MMA organization, still in the featherweight category (up to 65,7 kg). He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in one of his knees during the fight, but was able to control the Hawaiian in the grappling and win by unanimous decision. On several occasions, the Blessed One has expressed a desire to share the octagon with his rival once again, and given that talks between the Notorious and Dana White have intensified, that desire may be close to being fulfilled.
