During the event's 'Media Day', Renato Moicano downplayed Chris's comments, which stated who was getting the worst of it in training. The Brazilian pointed out that the sessions with his rival happened a long time ago and highlighted Duncan's recent evolution, especially in grappling. Without any disrespect, the Brazilian reinforced that he doesn't expect an easy fight, remembering that all fights in the UFC represent high-level challenges.

"I think at the gym they always try to avoid that situation. Dan Lambert (the owner) and the other coaches want to avoid it as much as possible. It's not good, people from the same team fighting each other. It's not the best scenario. But sometimes you have to do it because you have no other option in your career. I was out for a year and they gave me this opportunity to headline the fight. At the same time, Chris Duncan "I want to get into the ranking.
