Considered a major underdog in ufc vegas 115, Brendson Ribeiro, in fact, suffered in the octagon. In the event held this Saturday (4), the Brazilian was no match for Abdul-Rakhman Yakhyaev, a sensation in the company and undefeated in MMA. The athlete couldn't withstand the Russian's grappling, was submitted in the first round, and complicated his situation in the organization even further.

It's worth noting that this was Brendson's third consecutive loss, all by stoppage. Therefore, there's a high chance the Brazilian will be cut by the UFC. In the world's largest MMA organization, the athlete has fought seven times and only won two. On the other hand, Yakhyaev secured his ninth career victory, eight by stoppage (five by submission and three by knockout), and his second in the company. Thus, the Russian continued his hype and could soon join the top 15 of the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg).

Good start, but tough defeat.

Brendson started by surprising Yakhyaev with a knee strike. Startled, Yakhyaev quickly went for a takedown, but Brendson defended. On the attack, the Russian posed a threat to Brendson with a high kick.

In response, Brendson also landed a powerful high kick on Yakhyaev, who took advantage of it to take him down. On the ground and on top, Yakhyaev delivered elbows and punches to Brendson. Upon taking Brendson's back, Yakhyaev waited for the right moment and finished him with a rear-naked choke.
