Brazilian fighter Alessandro Costa , based in Mexico, gave Stewart Nicoll no chance in the penultimate fight of the UFC Vegas 115 preliminary card, winning with a perfect body shot and ending the fight at four minutes and 56 seconds of the middle round. The result not only marked the third victory for Diego Lopes ' training partner in the UFC, but also crowned another stoppage win for Nonô, who has only won by stoppage in the organization.

After dominating Nicoll's back on two occasions, he took advantage of an opening in the Australian's guard to land a powerful left hook to his opponent's liver, sending him to the ground and forcing the referee to stop the fight.
