Melk Costa , it seems, had to deal with a barrage of criticism on social media after his 'beef' with Alex Poatan . The UFC Dalmatian recently went viral after stating that Jon Jones would beat the light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg) in a possible fight, an opinion that did not please the Pataxó fighter or his fans.
In a social media post, Melk Costa acknowledged that he ended up paying excessive attention to the criticism and attacks he received, failing to appreciate the support of his true followers. The fighter highlighted the importance of the fans who genuinely support him and thanked them for their support, while also criticizing those who began attacking him without even knowing his background or career.

"These past few days I've wasted a lot of time worrying about who was insulting me and talking shit about me. And I didn't give the proper attention to those who really deserve it, which are my true fans. To those who root for me. Understand how Melk Costa annoyed Alex Poatan.
During his appearance on Connect Cast, Melk Costa assessed that in a potential fight between Poatan and Jon Jones, the American is the clear favorite. According to Dalmatian, 'Bones' would have the advantage mainly in grappling, imposing his takedown game and controlling the ground game. Even so, the fighter acknowledged that the Brazilian would have his chances, although he doesn't consider him the best opponent for the matchup.
" Jon Jones was going to crush Poatan... Because he was going to take him to the ground, man. That's it. Everyone has a chance, man, but (I don't think Poatan is) the favorite. But he has a chance," said Melk Costa.
