The second Hype FC event in Brazil finally had its main fight announced just days before it takes place. In it, Jean Silva faces off against UFC fighters Marlon Vera this Wednesday (8), in São Paulo. The company itself announced the confrontation through its social networks last Monday (6).
The pair will engage in a grappling match, with submission rules focusing on submissions. Interestingly, both the Brazilian and the Ecuadorian are more strikers than grappling specialists. It's worth noting that Jean is ranked sixth in the UFC featherweight division (up to 65,8 kg). Vera is a former bantamweight title challenger (up to 61,2 kg) and is currently ranked tenth.

In fact, this will be the second time that the 'Fighting Nerds' academy member has competed for the Russian organization. In March, in Rio de Janeiro, Jean faced Bryce Mitchell for the second time in his career, in a grappling match that ended in a draw.

And it's not just the main event of Hype FC Brasil 2 that pits UFC athletes against each other. The co-main event is a clash between bantamweights. Grappling specialists, veteran Deiveson Figueiredo, will face off in a generational duel against the promising Raul Rosas Jr.
