In an interview with Nina Drama, Prochazka stated that he felt proud of Poatan's performance, highlighting the Brazilian's aggressive and determined posture in the octagon. Furthermore, the former champion revealed that comments made by Ankalaev earlier also influenced his reaction, which increased his satisfaction with the outcome of the fight.
