Jon Jones has once again decided to abandon the idea of returning to MMA fighting. After months of negotiations to face Tom Aspinall in the UFC, the heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) announced the end of his career in June 2025 and relinquished his title. However, he changed his mind and tried to negotiate a return to face Alex Poatan at UFC Casa Branca . Failing to reach an agreement with Dana White, he changed his position again and, by all indications, has hung up his gloves definitively.
In a statement to 'Red Corner MMA', the American indicated that he considers his cycle as a professional athlete to be over, stating that he has definitively left his fighting career to dedicate himself to business.
"I hung up my gloves a long time ago. Enough of Jon Jones the fighter, now it's Jon Jones the businessman," said Jon Jones.

In the post- UFC London press conference , Dana White reiterated that Jon Jones was never considered for the UFC White House card . The UFC president claimed that Jones suffers from arthritis in his hip, a condition that would prevent him from competing, and stressed that, therefore, it would not be possible to rely on the American for the event.
Jones, for his part, was quick to speak out on social media and disputed the version presented by the UFC president. According to the former champion, there were negotiations for him to headline the card, and he even considered accepting less than US$30 million (approximately R$150 million), the amount he had previously asked to face Tom Aspinall.
However, the fighter stated that the offer of US$15 million (approximately R$75 million) made to UFC Casa Branca was considered too low, which is why he decided not to accept the fight.
