It's not easy for anyone! Away from the octagon, Islam Makhachev is robbed in Italy.

Even though he's been undefeated for over a decade, is a champion in two UFC weight classes, and is ranked first in the Ultimate's pound-for-pound rankings, Islam Makhachev is still far from invulnerable to the most common risks of everyday life. The welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg) revealed that he was robbed while traveling in Italy, through a post on social media.

The athlete recounted the story through posts on his Instagram stories . In good humor, he said he was disappointed to have lost the boots gifted to him by player Khvicha Kvaratskhelia during the Champions League match between PSG and Liverpool last week.

“I was driving peacefully to Italy, but now I don’t like Italy anymore. I’ll tell you how I was robbed here. All I have left is this wallet and my passport. The kind thieves returned my passport… The most valuable item in the suitcase were the football boots, which I won from (Kvaratskhelia) after the last game. Thieves, if football isn’t your thing, I’ll take the boots back. But everything is normal. Don’t panic. The prayer mat was also left behind. Nothing else is needed,” said the fighter, a devout Muslim.

There is no exact date set for Makhachev's return to the UFC.

The Russian's trip through Europe is drawing attention and indicates that the fighter is not yet in a training camp . King of one of the most competitive weight classes today, many sports personalities have been speculating about who will be Islam's first challenger for the belt.
