Josh Hokit has a secret weapon, to say the least, that is strange in his fights in the Ultimate. The loudmouth, who stole the spotlight by beating Curtis Blaydes at UFC 327, held last Saturday (11), brings to the octagon the habit of showing the middle finger to his rivals, an action that may have helped to distract the veteran during the fight.

During the fight against Blaydes, Hokit started the provocation as soon as his name was announced. For those who thought the gesture would stop after the bell rang, the American repeated the action eight more times, totaling nine instances throughout the entire fight.

Josh Hokit has already 'knocked out' an opponent using the gesture.

In his penultimate fight, at UFC 324 in January, Hokit faced Denzel Freeman on the preliminary card. After imposing a strong pace at the start of the fight, the American once again flipped his opponent the middle finger, who, already stunned by the previous blows, collapsed in the octagon, delivering one of the most unusual knockouts in the organization.

Beyond the excessive trash-talking, Hokit and Blaydes also raised the bar for the heavyweight division. During the 15 minutes of action, the fighters landed a total of 395 strikes, 351 of which were significant. With this, the pair set a new record for three-round fights in heavyweight history, and also registered the third-highest combined total in any three-round fight in the UFC, according to data released by the organization itself.
