While the sport was reviled and viewed negatively by much of American society, some important Ultimate events were held at the Trump Taj Mahal in the early 2000s, shortly after the Fertitta brothers acquired the company from the former SEG. The president has attended other UFC events in the past, and has also become close to athletes like Colby Covington , for example.
