Kayla Harrison has once again stirred up the women's MMA scene by calling out Amanda Nunes on social media. The American mentioned the Brazilian when projecting a possible confrontation between the two, increasing expectations for a super fight in the coming months. The move comes days after the 'Lioness' revealed an unusual encounter with her rival during UFC 327 , held last Saturday (11), in Miami (USA).

In a post on her X profile, formerly Twitter, Kayla expressed her eagerness to face Amanda in the octagon. The superfight, which was scheduled to take place at UFC 324 in January, was postponed after the American received a diagnosis of a herniated disc in her neck. The athlete needed surgery, which prevented her from fulfilling the schedule.
“Good morning, Amanda the Lioness! I can’t wait for us to have the greatest fight of all time and take women’s MMA to a whole new level! The best against the greatest of all time (GOAT),” said Kayla Harrison.

Kayla's statement comes amid an already heated backstage scenario. This is because Amanda Nunes recently revealed details of an unexpected encounter with her potential opponent during UFC 327. According to the former champion, the two met in the arena's bathroom and took the opportunity for a quick conversation about the future and the possibility of facing each other.
“I just ran into her ( Kayla Harrison ) in the bathroom. We bumped into each other there and chatted a bit. I asked if the fight at International Fight Week was confirmed or not. She said she hasn't really gotten back to training properly yet, but she's recovering.”
"I'll wait, right? I want this fight. It's a highly anticipated fight, one that everyone wants. Now we'll see what happens. I'm just waiting for it," said Amanda Nunes in an interview with Evelyn Rodrigues, the official UFC reporter in Brazil.
With an eye on a potential fight at International Fight Week, Amanda indicated that she is ready to return to the octagon and made her interest in the bout clear. While awaiting an official decision from the UFC, the Brazilian is maintaining an active but cautious training regimen, prioritizing physical recovery and weight control.
“It’s about training, but not as intensely. Keeping the pace. I’m doing my five rounds of sparring at a lower intensity, taking care of my body and my diet, which is the most important thing right now. It’s about managing my weight, staying healthy, and maintaining the pace until the date comes to increase the intensity,” the Brazilian added.
