Ilia Topuria believes the secret to staying calm before a fight is simpler than it seems. The Spaniard is scheduled to fight Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC Casa Branca , an event set for June 14th that promises to be one of the most watched in history. Despite the responsibility of headlining the card, the fighter assures that he has found an effective way to stay relaxed before the fight.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Topuria explained that he approaches the fight objectively and avoids premature mental strain. According to the champion, the challenge is limited to the time inside the octagon, while the rest should be treated like any other day, without future projections that could generate anxiety.

“The challenge will come during the 15 minutes I’m in the octagon, but outside of that it’s just a normal day. So, don’t allow yourself to travel to the future and wear yourself out mentally,” said Ilia Topuria.
