Charles Oliveira 's belt is in the sights of Josh Hokit , the UFC's newest loudmouth. Recently, the American intensified a rivalry with Paulo Borrachinha and even suggested a fight for the 'BMF' belt, currently held by the 'Badass Lion'. Now, the 'new Chael Sonnen ' has gone further and stated that the title of toughest man on the planet should belong to a heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) and not a lightweight (up to 70,3 kg).
In a social media post, Hokit raised his voice by arguing that the BMF belt should be exclusive to the heavier weight classes, claiming that lightweight fighters don't have the necessary physique to represent the title and promising to bring the title of 'toughest man on the planet' back to the heavyweight division.

In a social media post, Borrachinha indicated that he has made himself available to the organization as a possible replacement in the fight involving Derek Lewis, should any unforeseen circumstances arise. The Brazilian stated that he has already informed the UFC of his interest in taking the fight in the heavyweight division, emphasizing that the intention is genuine and not a joke.
"I just informed the UFC that if Derek Lewis pulls out of the fight for any reason, I'll take his place as a heavyweight in the White House. No joke, I'm not lying," said Paulo Borrachinha.

After defeating Max Holloway , Charles Oliveira became the target of criticism for adopting a grappling strategy for the fight, instead of the stand-up striking that some fans expected. In an interview with the Encarada channel, the 'Blurred Lion' defended his stance and stated that the symbolic title now has a new meaning.
Charles explained that the BMF belt has undergone a transformation over time. According to the Brazilian, initially the title was linked to fighters who stood out more for their provocations outside the octagon, but it gained a new connotation when Holloway won it, coming to represent a combative athlete within the fight, without necessarily resorting to controversial statements.
“'What does the BMF belt mean to you?' When it was created, it was for the guy who was always talking trash on the internet. After Max became champion, (the title) became about the fighter… And today the BMF means the kid who came from the community to the world and has a gigantic story, and showed that he has a different kind of Jiu-Jitsu. And today the BMF means that until someone comes to take it from me, then you guys invent something. Because today it belongs to Brazil,” said the BMF champion.
