Last Saturday (18), in Canada, Gilbert Durinho said goodbye to MMA forever, as a fighter. At 39 years old, the Brazilian, throughout his career, experienced great moments in the UFC and has already begun to recall his beautiful trajectory. A veteran of combat sports and a fan of fights, the Niteroi native collected friendships, but also met some very unfriendly professionals and exposed one of them.

In an interview with the YouTube channel 'Laerte Viana na Área', when asked about the most annoying fighter he'd ever faced, Durinho didn't mince words and mentioned Tyron Woodley . The athletes fought in 2020, but before that, they met at a UFC event, and the experience was anything but pleasant for the Brazilian.

Disappointed by the American's attitude, one of the best welterweights (up to 77,1 kg) in history, Durinho kept the episode in mind and used it as motivation to face him. And the tactic worked, as the Brazilian 'got his revenge' by mistreating Woodley in the octagon. Furthermore, the Brazilian wasn't the only one who described 'The Chosen One' as a 'strange' professional behind the scenes.

“Woodley is a wimp. Good thing he got beat up badly. He's a real wimp. When the UFC Performance Institute was launched, with the Snoop Dogg show, I remember he was the champion at the time and was with his wife. I was a Woodley fan,” said the former fighter.

“I asked him to take a picture and waited until he was relaxed, sitting with his wife and all. I asked, and he went to take a picture like that (without reacting). Then I told Vicente, who took the picture, 'Vicente, when I fight this black guy, I'm going to beat him up,'” he concluded.
