Jorge Masvidal didn't mince words when commenting on Movsar Evloev 's situation in the UFC featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) title race. The American defended the Russian and harshly criticized the possibility of the undefeated fighter not being the next challenger for the title, further fueling the debate about the organization's criteria.
Masvidal's statement comes amid uncertainty about who will face Alexander Volkanovski in the next title fight. Evloev appears as the main contender, occupying the top spot in the rankings and boasting a perfect record with 20 wins. Despite this, the UFC's decision is not yet final, which opens up space for other possibilities within the division, and this, in the former fighter's opinion, is not right.

Inside the octagon, Evloev continues to do his part. The Russian is coming off an important victory over Lerone Murphy , achieved in March at UFC London , in his opponent's home country, by majority decision.
Who will be Alexander Volkanovski's next opponent?
Among the names being considered, besides Evloev, is also Jean Silva , who, despite occupying a lower position in the ranking, has been gaining strength behind the scenes and is liked by the organization.
Still, not even the Russian's impeccable track record or the Brazilian's good relationship automatically guarantee a title shot, as UFC president Dana White has already indicated, keeping the next step for the division a secret.
