Arman Tsarukyan , currently ranked second in the UFC lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), opened up about what he considers essential for a fighter to succeed in combat sports. In the Armenian's view, many athletes end up making the mistake of trying to follow the same path as established names, which, according to him, can limit individual growth.
In a social media post, Tsarukyan emphasized that, more than results inside the octagon, authenticity, personality, and presence outside of fights are necessary to reach the top of the sport. For the fighter, building a personal identity is one of the main differentiators for those seeking recognition in today's MMA landscape.

The Armenian also highlighted the importance of social media in this process, even while acknowledging the difficulty of balancing an intense training routine with content creation. Tsarukyan even advises against athletes seeking prominence following in the footsteps of Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
“Don’t be fake. Do what you enjoy doing. Don’t keep watching what Conor McGregor or Khabib Nurmagomedov are doing. Just follow your own path and show your style to everyone. It’s difficult to balance training and social media, but nowadays it’s necessary to get fights and make money,” said Arman Tsarukyan.

Tsarukyan questions Topuria's trust and calls for confrontation
Besides giving advice to athletes aiming for success in MMA, Tsarukyan also doesn't miss the opportunity to respond to his rivals. The Armenian downplayed Ilia Topuria's confidence when projecting a possible confrontation between the two . The Spaniard, who faces Justin Gaethje at UFC Casa Branca , stated that he would easily defeat the Armenian, something that did not convince the American Top Team athlete.
“Just accept the fight. Why are you running away if you’re so confident you can easily beat me in the first round? Just sign the contract after this fight and don’t move up a weight class. Stay there and beat me, since I’m such an easy fight,” Tsarukyan said in an interview with Ariel Helwani.
