Marcus Buchecha was defeated again in the octagon, failing in the striking. At UFC Vegas 116, an event held this Saturday (25), the Brazilian was no match for Ryan Spann and was punished in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg). When venturing into striking, the jiu-jitsu icon received a powerful straight punch from the American, a former light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) fighter, and ended up being brutally knocked out in the second round.

Marcus Buchecha , 36, is a multi-time jiu-jitsu champion and one of the best fighters in the history of the sport, but he is having trouble adapting to the UFC. In MMA, the Brazilian began his career in 2021 and built a record consisting of five wins, all by stoppage (four by submission and one by knockout), three losses and one draw.

In the first five minutes, Buchecha fought a close round with Spann, but, as he had difficulty taking him down, he received powerful punches. However, the worst was yet to come. In the second round, the American continued to frustrate his opponent by defending against takedown attempts and, with Spann tired, finished the fight by landing a clean and heavy straight punch to his face. The impact of the punch was so great that the Brazilian was isolated in the octagon, falling unconscious.
