Norma Dumont spoke out after her defeat to Joselyne Edwards at UFC Vegas 116 , held last Saturday (25). The Brazilian was defeated by unanimous decision of the judges in the co-main event, in a duel valid for the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg), a result that interrupted her sequence of six consecutive victories and may have taken away the chance of a future title fight in the Ultimate.
Immediately after the fight, Norma appeared on her Instagram stories alongside her opponent, showing respect and composure even after the defeat. The Brazilian made a point of highlighting her good relationship with Joselyne and treated the loss with ease, reinforcing that such situations are part of any athlete's career.
"Hey guys. The fight's over. Well, my friend, look at the faces of both of you. Thank you, my love. It's part of the job," Norma said as she met Joselyne in the hallway after the fight.
Subsequently, the fighter from Minas Gerais analyzed the fight and stated that, in her view, she won the first two rounds. Even so, she acknowledged the close nature of the contest and avoided any strong complaints about the judges' scoring, making it clear that she respects the official result.

“It was a war. I think I won the first and second rounds, but the judges thought it was a close fight and gave it to Joselyne. I will respect the decision, of course. I've said this several times: I may not agree, but I will never say it's absurd. It was a close fight, that's just how it is. It's part of the job. We'll be back soon,” said the Brazilian.
