Jafel Filho went into detail about his loss to Cody Durden at UFC Vegas 116., held last Saturday (25), and stated that he faced a vision problem in the fight. The Brazilian explained that he could not see properly with one eye from the first minutes of the fight, which compromised his performance and resulted in the defeat by unanimous decision of the judges in a duel valid for the bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg).
After the event, Jafel appeared on his Instagram stories to explain to fans what happened inside the octagon. According to the fighter, in addition to visual difficulties, he also felt his mind freeze during the fight, preventing him from reacting as he had planned. The Brazilian reported that he could hear Dedé Pederneiras' instructions in the corner normally, but his body simply wouldn't respond to the commands.

Even though he tried to follow the strategy, he felt he couldn't execute what he needed to change the course of the fight and, therefore, sought medical attention to undergo post-fight examinations. With this result, Jafel now has three wins and three losses in the UFC.
"Talk to me, my family. It wasn't my time. My opponent was better. A lot of people are asking what actually happened. From the beginning of the fight, with this eye of mine, I couldn't see anything anymore. I saw two, three of them in front of me. My mind completely froze too."
Dedé (Pederneiras) was giving commands from the corner, I could hear everything, but my body wasn't responding. Now I'm in the hospital finishing some tests. But that's it, this sad story will pass.
