Paulo Borrachinha is in a hurry to end his contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The Brazilian fighter competed in the co-main event of UFC 327, where he knocked out Azamat Murzakanov , marking a turning point in his career. Despite his current success in the organization, the Minas Gerais native is keen to quickly fulfill his final commitment before evaluating new opportunities in the market.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Borrachinha revealed that he intends to return to the octagon as soon as possible. The fighter highlighted that he still has one fight left on his current contract and that his intention is to hold it within a short period of time, since he is currently injury-free.

“I have one more fight on my current contract and I plan to do the next one very quickly, in three months. It's April, I'm not injured… I could fight at the White House, but that would be atypical, requiring me to start preparing next week,” said Paulo Borrachinha.
Borrachinha stated that if he doesn't get the opportunity at UFC Casa Branca , his plan is to fight in July, thus ending his contractual relationship with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). With this, the Brazilian indicated that he intends to explore different paths for the next stage of his career, mentioning the growth of other platforms and even leaving open the possibility of remaining with the organization.
“If the fight at the White House doesn’t happen, the plan is to fight in July, which would end the contract and free me up. There are several options: Netflix is doing very well, and there’s also the option of continuing with the UFC. All possibilities are open,” concluded the Brazilian.

After facing the risk of being fired, Paulo Borrachinha turned things around in the UFC and is experiencing one of his best moments in the organization. In June 2025, the Brazilian ended his bad streak by defeating Roman Kopylov at UFC 316 , getting back on the winning track.
The real turning point, however, came at UFC 327, held in April 2026. In his light heavyweight debut (up to 93 kg), Borrachinha knocked out Azamat Murzakanov and established himself as one of the leading names in the category.
Given this new scenario, the fighter from Minas Gerais is now being seen as a potential contender for the belt, with expectations that his next challenge could be for the division title.
