Israel Adesanya showed that his relationship with Alex Poatan remains strong even outside the octagon. After the announcement that the Brazilian will be one of the athletes featured on the cover of the UFC 6 game , the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) reacted with good humor and took the opportunity to make a joke on Instagram.
The rivalry between Adesanya and Poatan, which began in kickboxing and continued in the UFC, is now a more amicable relationship. It was the Brazilian who took the title from the Nigerian at UFC 281 in November 2022. However, the response came a few months later.

At UFC 287 , Adesanya got his revenge by knocking out Poatan in the first round, regaining the belt. Since then, the São Paulo native has moved up to light heavyweight (up to 93 kg), expanded his legacy by winning the division title, and the rivalry with Adesanya has become publicly more friendly, with the two joking on social media and redefining their relationship outside the octagon.
Upon learning that Poatan would be one of the athletes on the cover of UFC 6, the Nigerian posted a video using a scene from the series 'The Boys' to satirize the situation. In the post, Adesanya uses the character's dialogue to joke about the fact that his shoulder also appeared in the image on the cover of the game, but that the rest of his body had been "cut off".

Alex Poatan faces Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title (up to 120,2 kg) at UFC Casa Branca in June, and could become the first fighter in the organization's history to win titles in three different weight classes.
Aiming for optimal preparation, Poatan chose to hold his pre-camp in Sobrália, Minas Gerais, as part of a strategy designed to maintain total focus on the fight . Furthermore, the choice of a more tranquil environment, away from major urban centers, was influenced by Glover Teixeira , his teammate and a key figure in building the Paulista's camp, who is also a native of the region.
