Alex Poatan is preparing for one of the biggest challenges of his career. The Brazilian, who faces Ciryl Gane at UFC Casa Branca on June 14th in Washington DC (USA), in a fight for the interim heavyweight title (up to 120,2 kg), revealed what he considers to be the key point of focus during the fight against the Frenchman. According to the São Paulo native, one aspect of his opponent's physical capabilities must be carefully studied.
Former middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) and light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) champion, Poatan could become the first UFC fighter to win titles in three different weight classes if he beats Gane. Therefore, the São Paulo native has already begun studying his rival and highlighted a specific characteristic that he considers unusual for the division.

On the other side will be one of the most technically skilled names in the division. Ciryl Gane has 10 wins in 13 fights in the UFC, with six victories by stoppage, and seeks to return to the top of the division after having already competed for the undisputed title. The Frenchman is known for his combination of speed, technique, and mobility, a factor that particularly caught Poatan's attention during preparation for the fight.
In an interview with 'UFC.com.br', Poatan explained that Gane's main weapon lies precisely in the way he moves inside the octagon. According to the Brazilian, this detail requires special attention during training camp, but he guaranteed he is ready to neutralize his opponent's game and seek another historic moment in his career.
"What strikes me most about Gane's game is his movement, which isn't normal for a heavyweight. But I'm prepared to deal with that," he stated.

Having held his pre-camp in Sobrália, Minas Gerais, in recent weeks, the former middleweight and light heavyweight champion explained that he will still spend a few days in São Paulo before continuing his international trip.
"That's it. Today is Monday and on Wednesday we're traveling. I'll spend three days in São Paulo and then head to the United States to continue my preparation. And the training there will be different. Things are going to get tough," Poatan said in a video posted on his YouTube channel.
The video was published last Tuesday (28) and Poatan also appeared on Wednesday (29) in his Instagram stories flying over São Paulo, which indicates that the trip to the United States should take place between next Saturday (2) and Sunday (3).
