Known for drinking beer during his post-victory celebrations at tennis matches, Tai Tuivasa once again didn't have the opportunity to savor the taste of alcohol after the fight. The heavyweight (up to 120 kg) competed at UFC Perth this Saturday and, despite massive crowd support, suffered another defeat, his seventh in recent fights, this time to Louie Sutherland.

The defeat marked the tenth loss in Tuivasa's career, who hasn't had his arm raised since February 2022, when he knocked out Derrick Lewis and extended his record for the longest losing streak in the heavyweight division. On the other side, Sutherland secured his first UFC victory and immediately used the moment to challenge Marcin Tybura.
Sutherland dominates in grappling and neutralizes Tuivasa en route to victory.
Tai Tuivasa started the fight dominating the center of the octagon, but in the first few seconds he was surprised by a takedown, being placed on his back on the ground.
After much effort, the Australian managed to get to his feet, but was hit by a spinning elbow followed by a knee strike. Even without showing much reaction to the blows, Tuivasa was taken down again and was then controlled by the Briton.
In the second round, Sutherland stuck to his game plan, relying on grappling to neutralize his opponent. He dominated Tuivasa for much of the round, even amidst boos from the local crowd.
Already in the third round, aware that he needed the knockout, Tuivasa went on the offensive from the start. However, after defending a takedown attempt, he ended up being tripped and was taken down again.
In the final minute, the referee restarted the fight standing up, but both fighters were already showing signs of fatigue, which prevented any more effective attempt to finish the fight.
