Max Holloway is determined to be the one to welcome Conor McGregor back to the UFC. The Irishman surprised fans by recently stating his intention to return to the organization and, although he doesn't yet have a defined opponent or a signed fight contract, the Hawaiian continues training and nurturing the dream of finally getting a rematch.
In an interview with 'UFC on Paramount+', Holloway indicated that the possibility of the fight is still uncertain, as there has been no official offer so far. However, he continues his routine with regular training even without a signed contract.
“Maybe (he’ll fight Conor McGregor ), we’ll see what happens. I haven’t heard (an official offer)… So, the training feels like regular training without a contract. You know, we know where we want to fight, why we want to fight. So, you know, it’s just going to the gym and training (without knowing if it’s going to happen),” said Max Holloway.

The Hawaiian also highlighted the history between the two, recalling that they have faced each other in the past and reinforcing his desire to avenge defeats suffered throughout his career. According to Holloway, a rematch against McGregor would make sense in this context, since the Irishman seems motivated.
“We have history. We’ve fought for a long time, and if anyone has a win against me, I want to return the favor. I love taking it back. And with him having all this talk about coming back, and everyone talking about how serious he really seems, he’s training, and taking it, and really wanting to get back into the fight. He seems hungry, he seems super hungry,” the Hawaiian concluded.

Recently, Conor McGregor caught the attention of fans by announcing his return to the UFC octagon, information that Dana White himself confirmed. In a press conference after UFC Seattle , the bald fighter highlighted that negotiations are still in the early stages and far from any conclusion. Despite this, the president reinforced his optimism regarding the possibility of a positive outcome involving the Irishman's return.
"Possibly. Nothing is done. Nothing is even close to being done. I'm optimistic," said Dana White.
