Sean Strickland experienced a magical night at UFC 328 and shocked the world. Last Saturday (9), in New Jersey (USA), the American ignored his status as a major underdog in the main fight, defeated the feared Khamzat Chimaev by split decision and won the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg) for the second time. Due to the important result, the popular bad boy was rewarded by the company in the weekly ranking update released this Tuesday (12).

Before his breakout performance at UFC 328 , Strickland was ranked third in the middleweight division and wasn't even considered a pound-for-pound fighter. Now, everything has changed for him. The American has not only returned to the top of the division but has also joined the select list of the company's best fighters across all weight classes, now holding the seventh position. With 'Tarzan's' entry, Magomed Ankalaev has left the elite of the elite.

Joshua Van , who shone in the co-main event of UFC 328 by knocking out Tatsuro Taira in the fifth and final round, defended his flyweight title (up to 57 kg) for the first time and moved up one spot in the pound-for-pound rankings. The Burmese champion is now ninth in the rankings.

Yaroslav Amosov also took advantage of UFC 328 to move up a level in the organization. The Ukrainian, former Bellator king, submitted Joel Alvarez in the second round and entered the top 10 of the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg) with only two fights in his new home. Undefeated in the octagon, the athlete gained four positions, becoming the tenth-ranked fighter.
