In a video posted to his YouTube channel, O'Malley commented on the situation with an ironic tone and indicated that he could have made better use of the moment to entertain the audience. According to the former champion, he could even have gotten some laughs from the situation, but chose not to act, showing some discomfort with how he was ignored during the press conference.
