If Netflix started by producing live shows and, in combat sports, bet on boxing, now it has turned its attention to mixed martial arts. This Saturday (16), in California (USA), the first and highly publicized MMA event broadcast by the streaming giant takes place, with the main fight being Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano in the featherweight division (up to 65,8 kg). In addition to the star clash, the grand attraction features two more anticipated duels, with a Brazilian fighter participating.

Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions, the company promoting the event, are selling it as having three main fights. Therefore, Philipe Lins will have the tough task of facing the favorite and feared Francis Ngannou in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg), while the bad boys Nate Diaz and Mike Perry promise to steal the show, as the expectation is for a brawl in the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg).

Besides Lins, the 'Brazilian Squad' has three more representatives. In the heavyweight division, Junior dos Santos, "Cigano," will face knockout artist Robelis Despaigne , a giant Cuban standing two meters tall. In the flyweight division, Adriano Moraes , "Mikinho," fights against Phumi Nkuta. In the preliminary portion of the event, Aline Pereira, sister of Alex Poatan , faces Jade Masson-Wong in a catchweight bout.

How to watch MMA on Netflix

Starting at 19 PM (Brasilia time), Netflix's first MMA event will be streamed live and in its entirety on the company's official streaming platform. The main card is scheduled to begin at 22 PM.
