Is a fight coming? Francis Ngannou is excited about Jon Jones' presence at a Netflix MMA event.

One of the stars of Netflix's first MMA event, Francis Ngannou is set to meet an old acquaintance at the 'Intuit Dome'. This Saturday (16), in California (USA), the feared Cameroonian returns to the sport that made him famous to face Philipe Lins and is considered by bookmakers as a strong favorite to win. And, because of this status, many are more anxious about the repercussions of what might happen outside the cage, since Jon Jones will be present at the show.

Moreover, the athlete will not only be making a VIP appearance at the event. Netflix confirmed that the legendary Jon Jones and Cain Velasquez , former UFC heavyweight champions (up to 120,2 kg), will be part of the event's broadcast as commentators. Upon learning of Jones' presence on the show, Ngannou expressed excitement about the news, which may, perhaps, bring him closer to a deal to also compete as a fighter in the future.

It's worth noting that a superfight between the Cameroonian and the American was discussed in the UFC, and both expressed interest in making it happen, but no agreement was reached, creating a rivalry. It's true that the MMA icons have reconciled, but Ngannou makes it clear that his dream fight is against Jones. Therefore, with 'Bones' on Netflix to commentate on his duel, 'The Predator' remains hopeful of one day facing him, even though Jones has an exclusive contract with Dana White's company, his rival.

“Well, it will be very interesting to have Jon Jones in the arena watching. I have a lot of respect for Velasquez after what he’s done, for what he represents. I fought him in the past, I respect him as an opponent. But, from Jones’ point of view, it’s very interesting to see him. What will it be like? We’ll see. It will be great. Has he done this before?”, said the former UFC and PFL champion at the press conference to promote the event.

“ Jon Jones should be learning some tricks to understand how business works. If I run into him, I’ll give him some business advice,” he concluded.

Ngannou's fighters in MMA

Francis Ngannou , 39, is a combat sports star. The Cameroonian began his MMA career in 2013 and built a record of 18 wins, 17 by stoppage (13 by knockout and four by submission), and three losses. In the sport, he was the UFC heavyweight champion and won the PFL heavyweight superfight title.

His main victories were over Alistair Overeem , Cain Velasquez , Ciryl Gane , Curtis Blaydes (twice), Junior Cigano , and Stipe Miocic . On the other hand, in boxing, Ngannou fought twice and lost both to Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury via knockout and split decision, respectively.
