At the press conference to promote the show, held last Thursday (14), Ronda criticized Chimaev for an inappropriate comment. Before facing Sean Strickland'Borz' didn't like seeing the American criticizing the UFC for how it treats its fighters. Chimaev was categorical in stating that the athlete wouldn't exist without the organization and implied that she was ungrateful.

Not letting anything go unpunished, the UFC Hall of Famer, visibly irritated, decided to humiliate the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg). In her attack, Ronda made a point of attacking the Chechen on a personal level and downplayed his competence as a fighter.
“I want to make something absolutely clear: I owe Dana and the Fertittas immensely. I would rather die than speak ill of either of them. But my loyalty is to them, not to the company they sold. I owe absolutely nothing to the UFC of TKO. That damn cleft-lipped guy hates me because, at his fight press conference, people asked about me and my fight,” said the star.
“Because nobody gives a damn about that useless wrestling festival. People won’t stop talking about this fight because it’s a packed event and they’re really excited to see me fight because, unlike Kumquat, I have a 100% win rate by stoppage,” he concluded.
