Max Holloway doesn't intend to let any of Conor McGregor 's attacks go unanswered, even before their duel at UFC 329 , scheduled for July 11th during International Fight Week. The Hawaiian faces the Irishman in the main event, a fight that marks 'Notorious' McGregor's return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship octagon. Before even exchanging blows in the cage, the former champions have already started a war of words on social media.

It all started when Holloway posted a promotional video for the fight, which was quickly answered by Conor McGregor , who promised a beating and stated that the Hawaiian would respect his name after the bout.

The former BMF champion wasted no time in responding, saying that it would be the Irishman who would ultimately show respect after the fight.

"No, boss, you're going to have to respect my name," Max Holloway replied on 'X'.

The last time McGregor stepped into the octagon was in July 2021, when he faced Dustin Poirier in the final fight of their trilogy. On that occasion, the Irishman was defeated. It's worth remembering that his last victory was in January 2020, when he beat Donald Cerrone.

Max Holloway , for his part, is looking to bounce back from his most recent UFC performance. The Hawaiian was dominated by Charles Oliveira at UFC 326 and, in addition to the loss, lost the BMF belt.
