This Saturday (30), in São Paulo, Acelino Popó and Whindersson Nunes will meet in the ring again. The former world boxing champion and the comedian will headline Fight Music Show 8 , which is nothing more than a rematch. The fighters faced off in 2022 and the occasion was special, as the fight was the main event of the company's first event. Four years later, the duo is in the spotlight again, but seeing a completely different scenario.
Before the first boxing match on Fight Music Show , Whindersson was already a popular phenomenon and was starting to develop a taste for the sport. Popó, on the other hand, despite being a legend in the sport, didn't have the recognition he deserved, much less followers. But, after the draw, since the duel had special rules, the veteran, despite his advanced age to compete, saw his career transformed.

The fair play between them was so great that the comedian asked his fans to follow the former world champion and his idol on social media. As a result of this action, Popó, who had around 600 followers on Instagram, went on to have more than two million, numbers that reinforce Whindersson's strength and the reach of Fight Music Show . From then on, the veteran became the face of the organization and, today, at 50 years old, has six million followers on the digital platform.

Popó and Fight Music Show: a successful partnership
Since the first Fight Music Show was a success, Popó simply headlined five other events for the organization and shone. The only major event the former world boxing champion didn't compete in was the seventh, held in 2025. After drawing with Whindersson, the athlete knocked out Jose Landi-Jons and Junior Dublê in just over a minute, Kleber Bambam in 36 seconds, and defeated Jorge 'El Chino' Miranda and Duda Nagle by unanimous decision.
Besides FMS , Popó also fought at Spaten Fight Night 2 against Wanderlei Silva in September, but the main event did not end well. In the ring, the boxer proved far superior to the MMA icon, who disregarded the rules and repeatedly headbutted him. Therefore, Acelino won by disqualification, and chaos ensued at the event.
Because the atmosphere between the teams was hostile, their members engaged in a general brawl in the ring. In the confusion, Popó was attacked by André Dida and Fabrício Werdum , and Wand was brutally knocked out by his opponent's son. Now, the former world boxing champion returns to action in the FMS against an opponent he knows well and has a great relationship with.
Whindersson has become a veteran of the ring.
If Popó's career reached a new level when he faced Whindersson on Fight Music Show 1, the comedian began his boxing journey with the legendary fighter as his opponent. It's worth remembering that the comedian started practicing the sport to improve his physical and mental health. From there, the YouTuber fell in love with the traditional sport and took his training so seriously that he decided to venture into the boxing ring.
Whindersson has even started competing in amateur, exhibition, and professional fights. In total, the comedian has fought six matches, winning two, losing three, and drawing one. It's true that the internet icon has been inactive since 2024, but even so, he's excited and looking to show improvement against Popó in the rematch and, who knows, surprise him by not just withstanding his power.
